
Four Standouts Earn NIRA Divisional Honors

The Sacred Heart University women’s rugby team earned four 2025-26 NIRA Divisional honors
FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Sacred Heart University women's rugby team earned four 2025-26 National Intercollegiate Rugby Association (NIRA) Divisional honors, as announced by the league this week.
Three Pioneers were named to the All-NIRA Teams, highlighted by First Team selections Olivia Woods and Reece Woods, while Charlotte Dauser earned Second Team recognition. Reese Torticill was also honored with Honorable Mention distinction following a standout season.
First Team All-NIRA
Olivia Woods (Junior, Tight Head Prop/Loose Head Prop)
Reece Woods (Junior, Tight Head Prop/Loose Head Prop)
Olivia Woods anchored the front row in seven matches, totaling 37 tackles, 10 poaches, and 89 ruck involvements while adding four tries on the offensive end. Reece Woods competed in five matches, recording 26 tackles and 43 ruck involvements, while crossing the try line four times and beating nine defenders.
Second Team All-NIRA
Charlotte Dauser (Junior, Lock)
Dauser played in seven matches and was a defensive force in the second row, tallying 65 tackles with a 96% completion rate. She added 12 poaches and 78 ruck involvements, along with three tries during the campaign.
Honorable Mention
Reese Torticill (Junior, Center/Wing)
Torticill emerged as one of the Pioneers' top offensive threats, finishing the season with 608 meters on 80 carries, six tries, and a team-high 93 total points.
The quartet's recognition reflects Sacred Heart's continued success within the NIRA and the impact of its junior class on both sides of the ball throughout the 2025-26 season.
