SHU suffered a close loss to No. 4-seeded Nebraska
HARAHAN, La. – The ninth-seeded Sacred Heart University bowling team suffered a 2-0 mega-match loss to No. 4 Nebraska on the opening day of the 2026 Conference USA Bowling Championship in Harahan, La.
The Cornhuskers took the traditional game by an 1,083-1,070 margin, with the bout coming down to the 10th frame. Morgan LiCausi led the way for SHU with 237 pins, with Hope Tafolla being close with 234 pins. Megan Prettyman (205) and Madilyn Yockel (200) also hit 200.
The Baker game was also closely contested, as Nebraska won 1,049-967. The Cornhuskers won the first game by 59 pins, but SHU clawed back taking the next two games to cut the margin to eight. Unfortunately, a win by Nebraska in game five sealed them the victory.
SHU will be back in action tomorrow at 2 p.m. CT to play No. 6 Wichita State.
