Burch, Gueubel Win MAAC Weekly Awards

The Pios are coming off a third place showing at the Kingsmill Intercollegiate
EDISON, N.J. — After finishing third at the Kingsmill Intercollegiate on Tuesday, Sacred Heart University women's golf's Jessie Burch and Garance Gueubel won weekly awards from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). Burch was named the MAAC Player of the Week, while Gueubel is the Rookie of the Week.
Burch led the Pioneers in 10th place at the Kingsmill Intercollegiate. Burch carded a 15-over 231 over the three-round event, carding a two-over 74 on Tuesday to climb 15 spots on the final leaderboard. She has finished in the top 10 of back-to-back tournaments.
Gueubel tied for 23rd at the Kingsmill Intercollegiate with a 236 (+20). SHU finished in third at the event. Gueubel saw a 15-spot rise up the leaderboard in round three with a score of 76 (+4).
The Pios hit the course again on Saturday, March 28, for the Intercollegiate at Prospect Bay, hosted at the Prospect Bay Golf Club in Grasonville, Md.
