GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Sacred Heart University women's bowling team saw its 2025-26 season come to a close on the second day of the Intercollegiate Team Championships (ITC), hosted by the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) at the Ashwaubenon Bowling Alley in Green Bay, Wis.
The Pioneers also had two bowlers compete in the Intercollegiate Singles Championships (ISC), which kicked off the event on Tuesday, April 14.
Hope Tafolla and Karleigh LeMond took part in the ISC. Tafolla kicked off the tournament with a 545-483 win over Kenzi Nieman from Rochester Christian before suffering a 635-564 defeat to Leah Brazier of Indiana Tech. LeMond fell in a close 589-536 match to Bricey Caudill of Tennessee Wesleyan.
The next day, SHU had three bowlers named All-Americans by the National Collegiate Bowling Coaches Association. Tafolla, Megan Prettyman and Madilyn Yockel all earned Honorable Mention status.
On Thursday, the ITC started, with SHU winning its first match against 12th-seeded Saint Vincent. The Pios took an exciting 4-3 win, taking games 2-4 and the deciding game seven, 200-183.
Unfortunately for the Pios, a 4.5-1.5 loss to fourth-seeded North Carolina A&T in round two put them in the consolation bracket.
SHU's season came to a close on Friday morning with a 4-3 defeat to 16th-seeded Maryville.
