
Equestrian Places Six on NCEA All-Academic Teams

Four Pioneers were named First Team selections
FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Sacred Heart University equestrian team placed six student-athletes on the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) All-Academic Teams, as announced by the organization on Wednesday afternoon.
A total of 132 student-athletes were named First Team across the 23 institutions, while 38 were named Second Team.
Carina Muratore, Eleese Shillingford, Rebecca Skelton, and Reagan Waggoner led the way with First Team All-Academic honors, marking a strong showing for the Pioneers among the nation's top student-athletes.
Kylie Hwalek added Honorable Mention recognition, while Muratore, Erin Phillips, Shillingford, Skelton, and Waggoner were also named to the NCEA Honor Roll.
Muratore continued her standout academic career, earning First Team honors for the third time while also collecting her third Honor Roll nod. Shillingford and Waggoner each picked up their second First Team selections and second appearances on the Honor Roll.
Phillips secured her first career Honor Roll recognition, and Hwalek earned her second Honorable Mention accolade.

NCEA All-Academic First Team
- Must have competed in a minimum of 70 percent of their school's meets, not including demo or exhibition rides.
- Earned a cumulative GPA of 3.5 while maintaining full-time enrollment in the previous spring and fall semesters, respectively.
- Must have competed in a minimum of 60 percent of their school's meets, not including demo or exhibition rides.
- Earned a cumulative GPA of 3.25 while maintaining full-time enrollment in the previous spring and fall semesters, respectively.
- Must have competed in a minimum of 50 percent of their school's meets, not including demo or exhibition rides.
- Earned a cumulative GPA of 3.0 while maintaining full-time enrollment in the previous spring and fall semesters, respectively.
- The top academic student athletes who have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.25 while maintaining full time enrollment in the previous spring and fall semesters respectively.
