Lacayo, Rothberg Tabbed 2025-26 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars

NORMAN, Okla. – After outstanding senior seasons, Sacred Heart University men's golfers Pablo Lacayo and Mike Rothberg were tabbed 2025-26 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars, as announced by the organization on Monday.
To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior, or senior both academically and athletically. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0, and maintain a minimum cumulative career GPA of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.
In total, 649 DI athletes from 210 schools were recognized as Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars. SHU, Fairfield and Iona represented the Metro Conference.
Lacayo and Rothberg are no strangers to postseason recognition this year, as both were named First Team All-Metro and both made the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District At-Large Team. Lacayo finished second on the team with an adjusted scoring average of 73.5, placing in the top 11 in seven of 10 events, which included all five spring tournaments. Rothberg led the team with a 73.2 adjusted average over 34 rounds, recording two top-three finishes and five top-10 showings.
