Mazza returns to Fairfield after building an impressive resume in pitching development and baseball analytics, working with athletes at every level of the game. Since completing his playing career, he has specialized in utilizing advanced technology and data-driven training methods to maximize pitcher performance.
Most recently, Mazza served as a college baseball consultant, assisting both Sacred Heart and Jacksonville State with pitcher development initiatives. He analyzed TrackMan data to identify performance trends, built interactive analytics dashboards, and developed individualized pitching plans that included workload management, recovery protocols, pitch design, and arsenal optimization.
Prior to his consulting work, Mazza spent time as the pitching coach at Archbishop Molloy High School, where he led the program to the league's lowest ERA while overseeing practice planning, game management, and recruiting guidance. He also worked at Cressey Sports Performance, helping develop pitchers from the youth, collegiate, and professional ranks through strength and conditioning, biomechanics, and pitch design.
Mazza also served as Pitching Coordinator and Director of Analytics for Make The Shift Pitching, where he helped launch the organization's player development model from the ground up. Using TrackMan and other industry-leading technologies, he designed individualized training programs and worked with numerous professional pitchers, including current Major Leaguers and multiple MLB Draft selections. Earlier in his coaching career, he worked as a performance coach at RPM Baseball, training high school, collegiate, and professional athletes during their offseason development.
As a player, Mazza appeared in 30 Division I games across four collegiate seasons at Quinnipiac, Long Island, and Sacred Heart, recording 33 career strikeouts. He finished his career with the Pioneers after helping the program during the 2025 season.
