Randy Brochu begins his 19th season broadcasting Sacred Heart University Athletics. The “Voice of the Pioneers,” Brochu is the lead TV Play-by-Play broadcaster for SHU Football, Men’s Hockey, and both Men’s and Women’s Basketball. He’s been on the call for more than 1,000 SHU Athletic contests and some of the most memorable moments in Pioneers Athletics over the last two decades - including the SHU Football 2018 NEC Co-Championship win, the SHU Baseball 2011, 2012, and 2015 NEC Championships victories, and the first SHU Men’s Hockey game at Martire Family Arena.
Brochu also regularly broadcasts on television for UConn Athletics and the CT Ice Tournament on SNY. Past broadcast work includes the NEC Baseball and Men’s Lacrosse Championships, Quinnipiac University Hockey and Basketball, and both Minor League and Summer Collegiate Baseball for the Norwich Navigators, Yakima Bears, Connecticut Tigers, and New Britain Bees.
Brochu worked full-time for SHU Athletics from 2010-2019, first as Assistant Director of Athletic Communications from 2010-2012, then as Student-Athlete Support Services Coordinator from 2012-2019. In his role with SASS, he served as Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) advisor and supported student-athletes in academics, personal and career development, and community service.
With a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Boston University in 2003, Brochu earned a Master of Arts in Communication from Sacred Heart in 2015.
