HAMILTON, NY -
Paul Kelley's late third period goal capped a comeback for the Colgate University men's hockey team, who defeated visiting Sacred Heart University 4-3 on Saturday in a non-conference tilt.
Kelley wristed a shot from an improbable angle that found a hole through Pioneer goaltender Eddy Fehri and gave the Raiders a one-goal lead that they would not relinquish.
Sacred Heart's Chuck Metcalfe had seemed to place momentum in his team's corner when he redirected a Garrett Larson pass through Raider goalie Steve Silverthorn's legs for a shorthanded goal, giving the Pioneers a 3-2 lead.
Colgate defenseman Rob Brown and Kelley scored within two minutes of each other, however, and gave the Raiders their second straight win.
Senior Martin Paquet scored twice for the 0-2-2 Pioneers and received the third star of the game in the losing effort.
