Nicolle Rubino Named Northeast Conference Rookie-of-the-Week

FAIRFIELD, CT (December 26, 2002) - Freshman Nicolle Rubino (Port Jefferson Station, NY) was named the Northeast Conference Women's Basketball Rookie-of-the-Week for the week of December 16th through 23rd.
Rubino earns her first NEC Rookie of the Week award after leading Sacred Heart with a team-high 14 points in a setback against Marquette, 76-49, last week. The rookie standout also grabbed six rebounds, handed out three assists and converted two three-pointers in the game. On the year, Rubino10.8 points and 3.2 rebounds per game off the bench for the Pioneers.
Rubino and the rest of the Pioneers will look to return from the holiday break and get back into the win column as they travel to Columbia University on Sunday, December 29th for a 2 pm tilt.
