The Storyline... The Pioneers take their 2-0 record on the road to take part in the Maryland Terrapin Classic with host Maryland, Louisiana-Lafayette and Maryland-Eastern Shore. Sacred Heart is coming off convincing wins over UMass and Lafayette to start the season as they take on the Maryland Terrapins in the first round Saturday afternoon. SHU will be looking to go a perfect 3-0 for the first time since the 1994-95 season as they take their first crack at a school from the ACC. The Pioneers have used a swarming defense to create turnovers and get easy points in transition to win their first two games by an average of 24.0 points. Freshman Amanda Pape has gotten out in fine fashion, scoring 12 points in her debut and following that up with a 23 point performance against Lafayette. Her 23 points is the highest point total by a freshman since the Pioneers joined the ranks of Division I in 1999-2000. The Terrapins are coming off back-to-back wins over Coppin State and Niagara to open their season, both at home.
