Final Stats
FAIRFIELD, CT (November 10, 2005) - The Sacred Heart volleyball lost to the United State Military Academy in three-straight games Thursday night in the William H. Pitt Center. The Black Knights of Army posted wins of 30-18, 30-19 and 30-28 to earn their 20th victory of the year (20-5). The Pioneers fall to 5-20 with the loss.
Leading Army was Rachael Breinling and Eileen Cassidy who each posted nine kills. Cassidy just missed a double double by adding 10 digs to her total. Libero Mandy Kimbrell led the team with 11 digs. Abby Casciato and Lauren Teal split time at the setter position and handed out 20 and 11 assists, respectively.
SHU was led by junior Brenda Bailey (Costa Mesa, CA) who posted eight kills and had four service aces. Freshman Katie Thomas (Wappingers Falls, NY) had a match-high 16 digs.
The Pioneers close out the regular season on Sunday night hosting St. Francis (NY) at 7:00 pm with a shot at the NEC Tournament on the line.
