Freshman Megan Spehar Name Sacred Heart Athlete of the Week

FAIRFIELD, CT (March 15) - Freshman pitcher Megan Spehar (Thousand Oaks, CA) has been named the Sacred Heart Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of March 7th through March 14th.

Spehar picked up three wins for the Pioneers during the week, compiling a 1.37 ERA while striking out 19 batters in 15.1 innings. After picking up wins over St. Peter's and Loyola, Spehar came out of the bullpen to pick up the victory Columbia, pitching 3.1 scoreless innings with six strike outs.

Spehar, and the rest of the Pioneers, return to action this Saturday, March 19th when they host Boston University for a pair of games at Pioneer Park. First pitch is at 1 PM.
