CHARLOTTE, NC - The Sacred Heart University men's basketball team looks to claim its first win of the season and come home from the NIT Season Tip-Off Tournament with a victory as it takes on the Gaels of Iona College in the consolation game of the Charlotte, NC bracket.

Series: This is just the second meeting ever between these two schools. Iona won the previous game on 1/27/81, 109-83.

SHU vs. the MAAC: The Pioneers are 18-9 all-time against teams from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Coneference. SHU is 12-1 against Marist and 5-3 against Siena. The Pioneers have also faced Iona (0-1), Duquesne (0-1), Manhattan (0-1), Loyola (1-0) and Rider (0-2).
