PROVIDENCE, RI - Freshman Matt Nuzzo hit a two-run, pinch-hit homer off Sacred Heart reliever Bobby McKee in the eighth inning to lead Brown University to a 9-7 win over visiting Sacred Heart University in a non-conference game Tuesday.

The Nuzzo homer capped a four-run eighth for the Bears. Freshman Steve Daniels drove home the first with a sacrifice fly, and Robert Papenhouse tied the game at 7-7 with an RBI single.

Sacred Heart, 13-16, led 4-1 going into the bottom of the sixth before Brown scored four in the inning to take a 5-4 lead. Junior Devin Thomas had the big blow in that inning with a two-run homer off SHU starter Rob Tencza.

Bobby McKee and Josh Enos had RBI in the top of the eighth inning to put the Pioneers back on top 7-5. McKee came out of right field in the eighth, after reliever Brad Trangucci had given up the first two Brown runs of the inning.

Junior catcher Jamie Morales led the Pioneers with three hits in the game to raise his season average to .313. Senior Tony Diaz also had a pair of hits to get his average to a career-high .310.
