MOON TOWNSHIP, PA - For 110 minutes on Friday, the Sacred Heart women's soccer team dominated play at Robert Morris University - dominated it everywhere but on the scoreboard. Despite outshooting the Colonials 23-8, when the dust settled the two teams played to a 0-0 draw in the Northeast Conference opener for both teams.
The Pioneers, 0-8-2 overall and 0-0-1 in the NEC, outshot Robert Morris 7-1 in the first half and 11-3 in the second. Jessica Onufur was solid in net for the Colonials, making ten seves. Shots were nearly even in OT, the Pioneers holding a slight 5-4 edge.
Lindsay Elliot and Britney Dupee were the busiest Pioneers with five shots apiece. Freshman Alex Mack had four shots, three of those on goal.
SHU also had 11 corner kicks to just three for 3-6-2 Robert Morris.
Sacred Heart will complete its western NEC swing on Sunday, playing at Saint Francis University.
