Softball Announces 07-08 Schedule

Fairfield, CT - The Sacred Heart softball team has announced its 2007-08 schedule. The Pioneers will play a series of games in the fall prior to starting their regular spring season in March.
The fall slate kicks-off September 15th with the Sacred Heart Fall Tournament. Over the next three weeks, the Pioneers will participate in tournaments at Fairfield, St. John's and Stony Brook. In addition, the fall slate includes dates with AIC and Yale as well Alumni Day.
The spring season starts with two big trips for the Pioneers. Over spring break, SHU will make their annual journey to Florida for the Rebel Games. The Pioneers will then travel to California for the St. Mary's College Tournament.
Opening Day at Pioneer Park is set for March 22 when Boston College will visit for a doubleheader. The following weekend Monmouth and Mount St. Mary's will come to Fairfield to open the Northeast Conference schedule.
The Pioneers will play non-conference doubleheaders at home against Dartmouth, Hartford, Seton Hall and Stony Brook in between their NEC games. SHU will also vist Iona and Yale in non-league play.
SHU will play five straight road games in the middle of April as NEC play heats up. The final weekend of league play is scheduled for April 26-27 at Pioneer Park. The NEC tournament will be held May 9-10.
