
Litke Leads Men's Basketball to Win at Robert Morris

MOON TOWNSHIP, PA - Sophomore Ryan Litke (Windsor, CT) scored a career-high 23 points, while Brice Brooks notched his first double-double of the season to lead the Sacred Heart men's basketball team to an 82-69 win over Robert Morris Sunday afternoon.
Sacred Heart, 7-10 overall and 4-2 in the Northeast Conference, took a 15-13 lead on a three-pointer by Litke with 11:51 left in the first half. Senior Luke Granato pushed the lead to five, 25-20, with 7:18 remaining. A Brooks jumper with 2:08 left still had the Pioneers up 30-27.
Senior Tony Lee hit a pair of free throws with 1:38 left. AJ Jackson put the Colonials back in the lead at 31-30 with :50 left in the half, but Corey Hassan put SHU back up with a trey with :38 left. Robert Morris knotted the game at 33-33 at the intermission on a driving layup by Mezie Nwigwe as the buzzer sounded.
The Pioneers started the second half with an 18-6 run to open up a 51-39 lead with 11:54 left in the game. Senior Drew Shubik and sophomore Chauncey Hardy had treys during the SHU spurt. The closest the Colonials would get the rest of the way was eight at 55-47 with 9:57 on a Francisco Bateko three.
SHU shot 53 percent from the field (30-57), including 11 of 24 from three-point range (46%). Brooks finished with 17 points and a game-high 11 rebounds. Hardy also finished in double figures with 13 points.
Robert Morris, 12-6 overall and 3-2 in the conference, was led by Jackson with 22 points. Lee ended with 18.
