BALTIMORE, MD - Morgan Warrington scored the only goal of the game on a breakaway from midfield in the 74th minute to lead the University of Maryland-Baltimore County women's soccer team to a 1-0 win over visiting Sacred Heart Friday night.
The game was evenly played with both teams registering six shots on goal. UMBC had one more shot than the Pioneers in the first half and had all three corner kick opportunities in the period.
Sophomore goalie Meghan Reichelt made five saves for SHU, while Christine Bacinski had six for the Retrievers.
The Pioneers will be off until Friday when they face the University of Delaware at the Yale Tournament.
