Box Score (Loretto, PA) – James Price scored the game's lone goal for St. Francis (PA) in the 74th minute, as the Red Flash beat the Sacred Heart University Men's Soccer team 1-0 Sunday afternoon.
David Butler hit the crossbar on a free kick, but Price took the rebound off hi s chest and settled it down for the game-winning goal. It was the only shot to make it past either goalkeeper, as Alex Fait (Ottawa, ON) and his Red Flash counterpart both made five saves, including four each in the second half.
Fait saw the majority of the action, however, with the Red Flash outshooting SHU 12-8, aided by six corners to the Pioneers' one. He stopped all three shots on goal from Wayne Tiller.
The Pioneers finish NEC opening Western Pennsylvania trip 1-1, and now move to 5-4 overall on the season. They next play Friday, October 7 at 4 p.m. on the road against Long Island.
