FAIRFIELD, CONN. — Round two of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Men's Soccer Championship has a familiar look to it. Just a week after an emotional regular-season finale, Sacred Heart and Fairfield meet again and this time with a trip to the conference title game on the line.

Separated by only 12 minutes, the crosstown rivals are set for another chapter in what's become one of the most anticipated matchups of the season. Top-seeded Sacred Heart enters Thursday's semifinal at Park Ave Field following a historic regular season that saw the Pioneers finish unbeaten in conference play and claim their first MAAC regular-season crown. Fourth-seeded Fairfield will look to flip the script and hand the Pios their first conference loss when it matters most.

When the two met last week, the fireworks started early. Fairfield's Sean Albritton scored twice including a late equalizer while Sacred Heart rallied behind goals from Danny Istambouli and David Garcia Gallego to earn a 2–2 draw. The teams combined for more than 30 shots in a fast-paced, physical contest that had all the makings of a playoff preview.

Now, the stage is set for the rematch. Sacred Heart will look to continue its dream season and punch a ticket to the MAAC Championship, while Fairfield aims to carry its first-round momentum across town and play spoiler.

Kickoff is scheduled for Thursday, November 13 at 6 p.m. at Park Ave Field. The winner advances to the MAAC Championship game, hosted by the highest remaining seed.
