Field Hockey Downed 2-1 at Robert Morris

Box Score

(Moon Township, PA) – The Sacred Heart Field Hockey team saw its comeback bid fall short, losing 2-1 Sunday afternoon at Robert Morris.

The Colonials took the game's first lead 4:44 into the game on goal by Jess Martin-Brown off a penalty corner.  Michelle Lewthwaite and Taleah Scott earned the assists, with Martin-Brown shooting high over the goalkeeper.

In the second half, Jamie Hartley dribbled through the SHU defenders to open herself up for a low shot to make it 2-0 at 37:30.  However, the Pioneers came back to cut the deficit in half.  Lindsay Kasten (Fair Haven, NJ) gathered a rebound and put the Pioneers on the board at 55:23.  The Pioneers put a flurry of opportunities together with about six minutes remaining following a penalty corner, but Nikki Kimborowicz's (Biddeford, ME) shot was saved, a follow-up shot Leah Salindong (Spring City, PA) was blocked, and Kasten took another that went wide.

Sacred Heart returns to action Friday, October 26 at 4:00 pm in the final regular season home game against Bryant.  The SHU Field Hockey senior class of 2013 will be honored in a pregame ceremony.
