(State College, PA) – Hannah Hoenshell netted a hat trick against the Sacred Heart Women's Hockey team, which fell 6-0 at Penn State Friday night.
Hoenshell bookended the scoring for the Nittany Lions, scoring the first two and last goals of the game Katie Zinn assisted her first at 7:16 of the first, followed by another assisted by Emily Laurenzi at 2:32 of the second. Shannon Yoxheimer and Jill Holdcroft reeled off back-to-back goals in the second to skate away with the game at 6:36 and 8:07 respectively. Yoxheimer hit SHU with another 10 seconds into the third.
The Nittany Lions outshot the Pioneers 66-18. Alexius Shutt (Elk River, MN) made 46 saves 46:54, before
Many Montgomery came on in relief and stopped all 14 shots she saw.
SHU takes on Penn State again Saturday, November 3 at 2:00 pm.
