Box Score FAIRFIELD, CONN. (October 7, 2014)—The Sacred Heart women's volleyball team fell in three sets to a tough Stony Brook team Tuesday night in the William H. Pitt Center (25-18, 26-24, 29-27). The Pioneers fall to 6-11 with the nonconference loss.
Junior Katie Direnzo (Shelton, Conn.) continues to have a strong season hitting .625 against the Seawolves converting six of her attacks for kills, while Makayla Dole (Cypress, Calif.) led the teams with nine kills.
The Pioneers battled their way through the second and third sets forcing both to extra points. A pair of attack errors got the better of them in the second set giving Stony Brook the win. The Seawolves clinched the match with three straight kills to end the final set.
Sacred Heart returns home Sunday, Oct. 12 when they host the Knights of Fairleigh Dickinson at 2:00 p.m. in the William H. Pitt Center.
