HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (November 4, 2014)—The Sacred Heart women's volleyball team dropped its final non-conference match of the season 3-0 (25-9, 25-19, 25-16) to Hofstra Tuesday night. Freshman Makayla Dole (Cypress, Calif.) led all players with 11 kills hitting .206. Making her first collegiate start, sophomore Rachel Guida (Huntington, N.Y.) hit .333 and registered 1.5 blocks.
The Pride took the first points of the opening set and never looked back overpowering the Pioneers through the first set. SHU used the break between sets to regroup and came out to play two competitive sets, but were still unable to get the edge on a strong Hofstra team.
After facing Fairleigh Dickinson on the road this Sunday, the Pioneers return home to host Bryant on Thursday, November 13 at 7:00 p.m. in the William H. Pitt Center.
