
SHU Softball Announces 2015 Schedule

FAIRFIELD, CONN. (December 3, 2014)—Co-head coaches Elizabeth Luckie and Pam London announced the 2015 Sacred Heart University softball schedule Wednesday afternoon.
The Pioneers will open their 2015 campaign on February 20 at 10:00 a.m. against Boston College in the opening game of the Chanticleer Showdown hosted by Coastal Carolina University. The Chanticleer Showdown is the first of four tournaments SHU will participate in before opening conference play. Sacred Heart will spend the weekend of February 27-28 in Tampa, Fl. At the Under Armour Invitational at the University of South Florida before spending Spring Break at the annual Rebel Games in Winter Haven, Fl. March 4-7. The Pioneers will come slightly closer to home before opening Northeast Conference play for the 14th Annual UMBC Spring Classic March 13-14.
Sacred Heart ends March with a trip to Western Pennsylvania to face NEC opponents Robert Morris and Saint Francis U. SHU finally returns to Connecticut for one game against the Quinnipiac Bobcats in Hamden, Conn. on April 1 before opening an 11-game home stand that weekend.
During the home stretch, the Pioneers will face four NEC teams in Mount St. Mary's, Central Connecticut State, LIU Brooklyn, who was the runner-up in the 2014 NEC softball tournament, and Wagner, as well as non-conference opponents Stony Brook, and cross-town rival Fairfield.
On April 18, the Pioneers travel to Smithfield, R.I. to face the reigning NEC Champion Bryant Bulldogs before their final two home dates against Quinnipiac on April 21 and a doubleheader against Manhattan on the 22nd.
The Pioneers will round out the regular season with a five-game road trip that sends them to Fairleigh Dickinson, Fairfield and Army.
