Pioneers Open NEC Play At Robert Morris Saturday On ESPN3

Sacred Heart enters its conference opener at 2-2 after a 49-7 loss at Dartmouth on September 26. However, the Pioneers are 6-3 after a regular-season open week since 2002. Last season, the Pioneers opened Northeast Conference play with a 52-13 win over the Colonials at Campus Field.
Robert Morris comes into Saturday's game 2-3 overall, but 1-0 in conference after winning at Wagner 9-6 last week. The Colonials got three field goals from Connor Shennan to overcome a 6-0 deficit. Robert Morris is the second-leading rushing team in the NEC, averaging 172.8 yards per game. The Pioneers lead the conference in rushing defense, allowing 112.2 points per game.
Saturday's game will be the 18th meeting all-time between Sacred Heart and Robert Morris on the football field. The Pioneers hold a slim 9-8 lead in the series after winning the last two games by a combined score of 94-38. The two teams have split the last 10 games.
