Last Time They Met...
A 23-4 run over the final 7:37 of the first-half led the Sacred Heart University women's basketball team to a 71-55 win over Saint Francis Brooklyn in the Northeast Conference opener for both teams. The victory improved the Pioneers to 6-5 on the season and 1-0 in league play, while the Terriers fall to 3-10 overall and 0-1 in NEC action. Sacred Heart led from the outset as Hannah Kimmel (Harpursville, N.Y.) drained a three-pointer 15-seconds into the game.
Scouting the Terriers...
- St. Francis Brooklyn comes into Saturday's Valentines Day matinee on a two game losing streak having most recently lost to the first place Central Connecticut State 61-43 on Monday
- The Terriers are led by seniors Sarah Benedetti (13.2 ppg) and Eilidh Simpson (12.7)
- The Terrier defense ranks first in the Northeast Conference holding opponents to an average of 61.5 points per game

Last Time Out...
Hannah Kimmel's 27-point 17-rebound performance led the Sacred Heart women's basketball team to victory over Wagner 73-60 Monday night on Coach Bike Court. Teammate Adaysha Williams posted her second career double-double tallying 17 points and grabbing 10 rebounds as the Pioneers improve to 12-9 and 7-4 in Northeast Conference play. The red-shirt junior recorded 13 points and 10 rebounds with five minutes remaining in the first half for her ninth double-double of the season.
Going for 5...
Saturday, Head Coach Jessica Mannetti will be looking for the first five-game streak of her head coaching career. Monday's 73-60 win over Wagner marked the third time--first this season--that Mannetti has lead the Pioneers to a four-game streak.
Kimmel's Double-Doubles...
Hannah Kimmel recorded her ninth double-double of the season Monday night against Wagner with 13 points and 10 rebounds before the halftime buzzer. She went on to finish the game with 27 points and 17 rebounds, giving her three double-doubles in the last four games. Her season total of nine double-doubles has her sitting 44th among the NCAA Division I ranks.
First Half Team...
In four of their last five games, the Pioneers have blown big lead late in the second half. In its first contest against Bryant on Jan. 24, the Bulldogs overcame a nine-point defecit to sqeak out a 71-67 win. In two of their next three games after that, SHU's opponents pushed the Pioneers to overtime with Mount St. Mary's overcoming a 19-points SHU lead and Bryant a 16-point SHU lead. Both times Sacred Heart came out on top. Most recently, when Wagner came to town on Monday, the Pioneers saw a nine-point lead slip away in the final 10 minutes, but fought back hard before the final buzzer for a 73-60 win.
Adaysha Taking Charity...
For the first time since Blair Koniszewski in February of 2013, a Pioneer was perfect from the charity stripe with double-digit shots. Sophomore Adaysha Williams went 10-for-10 from the foul line in Monday's win over Wagner.
Finding Monday Success...
In a league that plays every Monday during the conference season, Sacred Heart finally captured its first Monday win of the season this week against Wagner, 73-60. Before then, the Pioneers had dropped three straight Monday games to Central Conn. State (62-49), LIU Brooklyn (77-74 OT) and Robert Morris (76-65).
