FAIRFIELD, CONN. (April 22, 2015)—Kate Nadler accounted for two of Sacred Heart's four hits going 2-for-3 at the plate Wednesday afternoon in the Pioneers' 5-2 loss to Manhattan. The loss drops SHU to 12-25 before they resume Northeast Conference play on Sunday at Fairleigh Dickinson.

After Jenn Vazquez's single led to the Jaspers loading the bases in the top of the second inning, SHU starter Kacie Wentworth got out of a bases loaded jam getting Victoria Ross to pop a ball foul and into Nadler's glove. Manhattan managed to get three runs off the senior throughout the fourth and fifth innings before Jamie Carlson got the call to relieve her as the Pioneer bats remained quiet.

After threatening in the bottom of the fifth, SHU got on the board with two runs in the sixth inning. Nadler led off the game with a single to short centerfield and Kelyn Fillmore worked a walk behind her to put runners on first and second. They both got bumped over a base as Justine Sibthorp grounded out. A single to rightfield by Victoria D'Addario scored Nadler, and Hannah Ford's fielder's choice allowed Jessica Schild, who pinch ran for Fillmore, to go home.

Down just one run, the Pioneers gave up two more in the top of the seventh and were unable to recover in the bottom of the inning.
