After a strong performance this weekend against Fairleigh Dickinson, Ana Gonzalez was selected as this weeks Defensive Player of the Week.

Gonzalez anchored Sacred Heart's defense in a 3-1 win over Fairleigh Dickinson on Saturday, posting 31 digs in the victory for an average of 7.75 digs per set. Gonzalez added two service aces and eight assists in the victory. The senior, who has recorded 13 or more digs in six of seven NEC matches, has compiled 112 digs in league play for an average of 4.31 digs per set, the fifth-best mark on the circuit. The Pioneers are now tied for first in the NEC with a 6-1 conference record.
