Pioneer Rugby Shutout by Bowdoin

BRUNSWICK, MAINE (October 22, 2016)—The Sacred Heart women's rugby team suffered a 99-0 loss to Bowdoin College at Pickard Rugby Field on Saturday. The loss drops the Pioneers to 2-4 on the fall season with one game left before Conference Playoffs.
SHU was never able to find their footing in the game as the Polar Bears came out strong. With six tries and going 3-for-6 on conversion kicks, Bowdoin owned a 36-0 lead at halftime. They continued their offensive onslaught in the second half with nine tries and nine good conversions.
Next Saturday, SHU will head to Ohio to face perennial powerhouse Notre Dame College in an 11:00 a.m. game.
