
Pioneers Win Hard Fought Battle Versus Robert Morris

The Sacred Heart Pioneers have moved to an outstanding 10-1 in the Northeast Conference after a hard fought battle with the Colonials of Robert Morris.
1st SET- The Pioneers had all they could handle In the first set of the match as the score was within four points the throughout the whole match. The Colonials took their largest lead of the match at 20-16. Sophomore Makayla Dole helped the Pioneers claw back by driving two kills to extend the set to 29-27 and solidified the first set win for the Pioneers.
2nd SET- Senior Allison Riggs had an impressive second set as she posted 3 kills and a service ace to bring the Pioneers one set closer to the win. Although the Pioneers had a quick start, jumping to a 19-13 lead the Colonials made it interesting bringing the match within two until falling to the Pioneers 25-22.
3rd SET- As the Pioneers looked to continue they're typical sweep of opponents, the Colonials answered in the third set taking the set 25-23. The Colonials posted four straight points to end the third set and force set four.
4th SET- Sacred Heart bounced back quickly and managed to close the match in the widest margin of the night as they took the last set 25-19. Makayla Dole had 5 kills in the last set, to finish the night off.
The Pioneers are back at home next week as they take on Fairleigh Dickinson Saturday November 5th at 2:00pm. They also take a break from conference play as they will hit the road to take on UMass Lowell Sunday November 6th at 3:00pm.
