Box Score The Sacred Heart women's volleyball team continues to display perfection in their run for an NEC championship. The Pioneer's defeated Bryant in three dominating sets to move their record to 12-6 overall and an impressive 5-0 in conference play.
The Pioneers were aggressive early in the match jumping to an 6-1 lead, senior libero Ana Gonzalez then tallied two back to back service aces to extend the lead further. The Pioneers continued to perform as they took the set by a score of 25-11.
Going into the second set, the Pioneers continued their precision on the service line, combining four service aces in the second set alone. Two coming from Liisel Nelis, one from Makayla Dole, and one from Allison Riggs. The bulldogs came close, with a tie match at 12-12 in the second set, until senior Sarah Krufka rallied the Pioneers to close the match 25-18.
The Pioneers hit for a striking .410% in the third set where they registered 19 kills. The Pioneers came together for a group effort to finish the match with a sweep over the bulldogs in three sets, with a final score of 25-20.
The Pioneers look to keep rolling tomorrow as they take on Central Connecticut State at 1:00pm.
