Box Score ORONO, ME (August 28, 2016)—The Sacred Heart field hockey team falls to 0-2 on the season with Sunday afternoon's 6-1 loss to Maine. Allie Brouhard (Washington, N.J.) netted her first goal of the season to put the Pioneers on the board late in the game.
With a little over 10 minutes left to play, Nichole Tolli (Poughquag, N.Y) had her shot blocked. Marlena Koellner (Feasterville, Pa.) got the rebound and found Brouhard right in front of the goal. The sophomore was able to easily knock the ball in for the Pioneers' only goal of the game.
SHU returns to action Friday at Johnson Field as it hosts Lock Haven at noon for the 2016 home opener.

How It Happened
First Half:
- Maine wasted no time putting the first score on the board just 2:51 into the game. The Black Bears' offensive attack never slowed through the first half as they outshot SHU 8-0 in the period, three of which were converted for goals
- Maine expanded its lead just inside the 23-minute mark as Lydia Gavner scored her first goal of the season. Less than a minute later, it became a three-game lead when Riley Field found the back of the goal
Second Half:
- The Black Bears rounded out their scoring with three goals in the first nine minutes of the second half
- SHU was finally able to get someone going in the offensive zone late in the game, earning a penalty corner at 58:26. Brouhard took the corner, getting the ball to the top of the key to Tolli, who's shot was blocked in front of the goal. Koellner got possession of the rebound and found Brouhard open in front of the goal. A quick pass and the sophomore pushed the score in
