Box Score FAIRFIELD CONN.- The Sacred Heart Pioneers closed out the Fairfield Invite today falling to James Madison in four sets. The first set James Madison won 26-24, while the Pioneers took the victory in the second set winning by a margin of 25-21. This was the last set the Pioneers would win as they dropped the final two sets 25-20 and 25-21. The Pioneers ended the Fairfield Invite with a record of 1-2.
The Pioneers were led by Sarah Krufka on the offensive side tallying 17 kills of her 36 attempts giving her a kill percentage of .333%. Also standing out for the Pioneers was Makayla Dole who recorded 16 kills on the day. The Pioneer serving continued to shine as they had 8 aces in the set, 3 coming from Sarah Krufka. On the defensive side Julia Murawinski recorded 5 block assists and 1 solo block for the Pioneers. Also on the defensive side was libero Ana Gonzalez who marked 16 digs for the Pioneers.
Sacred Heart looks to bounce back in their next contest versus Idaho State at The New Hampshire Invite on September 16th.
