
Equestrian Named High Point Team At UCONN For Sixth Time This Season

STORRS, CT- The Sacred Heart University Equestrian team was named the High Point team of the day for the sixth time this season as the Pioneers claimed 43 points at UCONN's show this afternoon. The Pioneers will return to action on Saturday Feb. 29 when they compete at Connecticut College. Shows begin at 9:00 a.m.
Freshman Hanna Lloyd and senior Michaela Fritsch highlighted the Pioneers victory as Lloyd was tabbed High Point rider as she took first in the Open Flat Section A while Fritsch took Reserve High Point rider as she took first in Intermediate Fences Section A and first in Limit Flat Section A.
Overall, the Pioneers took first in 10 events including sweeping the Limit Flat with Fritsch taking Section A, junior Hailey Tyler taking Section B and junior Devon Cavaliere taking Section C.

Open Fences Section A: Senior Co-Captains Gabi Sorrentino and Emily Spellman placed 4th and 6th.
Open Fences Section B: Senior Anne Bergere placed 5th.
Intermediate Fences Section A: Senior Michaela Fritsch and Sophomore Danielle DeRisio placed 1st and 2nd.
Intermediate Fences Section B: Freshman Hanna Lloyd placed 1st.
Limit Fences Section A: Freshman Lilly Bove placed 1st.
Limit Fences Section B: Freshman Molly Guglielmino placed 3rd.
