FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Sacred Heart women's basketball team plays its final regular season road game of the year, at Bryant University, Monday night. The Pioneers have won consecutive games to secure an NEC Tournament berth and are 10-17 on the year and 7-9 in league play. The Bulldogs are part of a four-way tie for fourth place, with the Pioneers.
Jayla Davis had a career-day in the Pioneers win over St. Francis Brooklyn on Saturday, scoring 21 points. Adrianne Hagood led the team with 22 points in the win, as she and Davis became the first Pioneers to eclipse 20 points in the same game, since Kat Haines (23) and Candice Leatherwood (21) achieved the feat on November 30, 2017 versus Hofstra. Ally Murphy scored a season-best 13 points, while Olivia Dabney had a career-best seven assists.
SHU and Bryant met on February 23, a come from behind Pioneers victory, 52-48. SHU erased a 10-point fourth quarter deficit to earn the victory. The Pioneers are now 18-6 all-time against the Bulldogs and 8-3 at Chace Arena.
