Pioneers earn NEC semifinal berth
FAIRFIELD, Conn. – A dominating performance punched the Sacred Heart University women's soccer team's ticket to the Northeast Conference semifinals. The Pioneers downed Bryant, 4-1, on Sunday afternoon during Senior Day.

Bryant got out to a quick start when Jordyn Collins put the Bulldogs on the board just two minutes into the game.
Sacred Heart responded with three first-half goals. First-year Grace O'Hara raced past Bryant's defensive line for the equalizer at the 20:07 mark. Ten minutes later, O'Hara capitalized off a pass from Anna Ludkiewicz for the game-winner.
Junior Deisree Crawford crossed the ball across the box in the 35th minute. First-year Kelly Cheevers played the ball out of the air and into the back of the net for the two-goal cushion to end the half. The goal marked Cheever's first career goal.
Azria Malloy tapped in a service from Nichol Green at the 58:34 mark to extend the Pioneer lead.
The Pioneers outshot Bryant, 14-9.
Sacred Heart snapped a six-year winless streak against the Bulldogs. The last SHU win over Bryant was in 2014.
