Pioneers Hit the Record Books After Day Two at Blue Devil Invite

Three Pioneers made the top five in program history in two events

NEW BRITAIN, Conn.- Three Pioneers on the Sacred Heart University women's swimming and diving team made the all-time program history books after day two of the Blue Devil Invite on Saturday. The Pioneers currently sit in fifth place with 251 points.

Prelims

In the 3-meter diving prelims, senior Molly Martin led the Pioneers with a score of 216.85 to place herself in second place.
Olivia McNicholas followed in third just .20 points behind with a score o 216.65.
First-year Emma Chambers claimed fifth in the 400 yard IM with a time of 4:44.76.
Taylor Eck placed 16^th in the 100 yard butterfly touching the wall at 1:01.77.
Caroline Duhamel placed 18^th in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2:02.08.
First-year Rosemery Nieto placed 11^th in the 100 yard breaststroke touching the wall at 1:10.99.
Casey Barrett led the Pioneers in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:00.81.
In the final event of the prelims Nicole Tingley placed fifth in the 100 yard IM with a time of 1:02.25.

Finals

The Pioneers took first in the 3-meter diving final as senior Megan McLaughlin scored a 228.55 on the board. She now ranks fourth all-time in program history in the 3-meter dive.
First-year Emma Chambers placed first in the 400 yard IM recording a career best time of 4:36.01. She now ranks third all-time in the event.
The 200 yard medley relay team of Taylor Eck, Rosemery Nieto, Nicole Tingley and Kelly Bartnett placed fourth overall and first in their heat with a time of 1:49.17.
Melanie Sanchez ranked fourth all-time in the 400 yard IM with a time of 4:37.75.
Sophomore Olivia McNicholas finished just behind in third place scoring a 223.60 on the platform.
