The first half was closely contested until the visitors went on a 5-1 run that spanned both halves. LIU grabbed a 10-5 advantage on Rachel Mussulo's third goal of the game.
Emma Kittredge keyed a 4-0 Sacred Heart run with a pair of goals to pull the Pioneers with 10-9 at the 9:10 mark. Unfortunately, Ellie Holt's first collegiate goal would be SHU's last score of the day as the Sharks scored four unanswered goals to seal the victory.
LIU controlled the game by winning 21 of 25 draw controls. That helped give the Sharks a 36-20 advantage in shorts. SHU goalie Bella Beaton made 12 saves.
