Box Score LORETTO, Pa. – A late push in the first half by Mount St. Mary's snowballed in the second half as the Mountaineers defeated the Sacred Heart University women's lacrosse team. Mount topped the Pioneers, 18-7, on Saturday.

A free position goal by Lydia Werlau pulled the Pioneers within 5-4 at the 13:43 mark of the opening frame. Mount responded by scoring five unanswered goals to go into the half up 10-4.
Sacred Heart opened the scoring in the second half when Kirsten Barnes found the back of the net at the 27:14 mark.
Unfortunately, the Mountaineers went on a 4-0 run to put the game out of reach and outscored the Pioneers, 8-3, in the second half.
Werleau recorded her third hat trick in a row with a team-best three scores. Barnes had two goals and two assists.
Mount St. Mary's had a 42-17 advantage in shots and won 16-of-23 draw controls.
