
Swimming and Diving Set for NEC Championships Beginning Saturday

FAIRFIELD, Conn.- It's that time of year again as the Sacred Heart University women's swimming and diving team hits the pool on Saturday to kick-off the 2020-21 NEC Championships at Central Connecticut State.
The Pioneers enter the championships on a high note as SHU is coming off a victory over St. Francis (N.Y.) defeating the Terriers by a score of 156-135. SHU has tallied an overall dual meet record of 3-2 with wins over Merrimack, Fairfield, and St. Francis (N.Y.).
Standing out for the Pioneers this season has been first-year diver Olivia McNicholas as she was most recently named NEC Diver of the Week for her pair of wins against St. Francis (N.Y.) She has tallied a pair of Diver of the Week Honors this season.
On the swimming end, senior Emily Peter has been the strongest swimmer for the Pioneers taking first in eight events in the five meets.
The Pioneers open with diving events on Saturday and Sunday at Central Connecticut State followed by swimming events beginning on Tuesday taking place at Keystone Aquatics in Carlisle, PA.
