Box Score STATEN ISLAND, NY – Two weeks ago, Wagner College ran away from the Sacred Heart University women's lacrosse team in the second half. Saturday it was the Pioneers' turn to pull away as SHU went on the road to defeat the Seahawks, 13-12.

Kirsten Barnes found the back of the net with five minutes left in the game to put the Pioneers up 13-12.
Goalkeeper Bella Beaton preserved the victory by making back-to-back saves, including one on a free position with two minutes remaining.
Beaton was the difference in the game as she made 12 saves, compared to four by her WC counterpart, to negate a 43-28 Wagner advantage in shots.
It was a high-scoring first half with SHU going into the locker room with a 10-8 advantage. Emma Kittredge scored back-to-back goals then Lydia Werlau completed a 5-1 SHU run with a score.
The Seahawks got two goals in the first five minutes of the second half then SHU answered with two-straight goals from Grace Reinold and Werlau's third score. Wagner got two goals in the space of 90 seconds to pull even before Barnes recorded the eventual game-winner.
The win snapped a seven-game losing streak to Wagner, dating back to the 2013 season.
