Box Score 2 STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.- A late-inning comeback in game one by the Sacred Heart University softball team led to a split pair of games against Wagner this afternoon.

Game 1
Score: SHU 4, WAGNER 3
Of Note
- Neither side would be able to score until the bottom of the third inning when Wagner scored three runs to take a commanding 3-0 lead.
- SHU answered back though as senior Kira Ferraiolo launched her third home run of the season to get the Pioneers on the board in the top of the fifth inning making the score 3-1.
- SHU continued the scoring in the sixth inning as a two-RBI single to left field by junior Maighread Scafariello would tie the game up at 3-3.
- Senior Caroline Kruger would follow in the top of the seventh knocking in the game-winning RBI double to result in the Pioneers' 4-3 victory.
Game 2
Score: SHU 6, WAGNER 7
Of Note
- Wagner would again take an early lead this time the Seahawks took a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the first off a pair of RBI doubles and a single.
- Wagner added to their lead in the bottom of the third with three more runs to take a commanding 7-0 lead.
- SHU would attempt a comeback as the Pioneers would cut the Wagner lead to 7-4 off a two-RBI single by Alyssa Gonzalez in the top of the fifth inning.
- Then in the final inning, Gonzalez would fire off her 14th home run of the year to cut the Wagner lead to just one.
- But Wagner was able to hold off the Pioneers resulting in the 7-6 loss.
