Box Score FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Sacred Heart University women's lacrosse team grabbed a lead with 7:41 remaining against St. Francis, but couldn't hold on for victory. The Red Flash scored three goals in the final five minutes for the 13-1 victory on Saturday.

Trailing 10-7 in the second half, the Pioneers got four-straight goals from four different players to pull ahead for the first time. Carolina Wax's score at the 7:41 mark put SHU ahead 11-10.
SFU's Danielle Hernandez got the equalizer at the five-minute mark then Amanda Heidt scored the eventual game-winner with 1:48 remaining. Keeping SFU in the game was goalkeeper Elyssa Enrique as she made four saves in the final 15 minutes and the Red Flash killed off a two-minute penalty before Heidt's game-winner.
The visitors had a 5-1 lead midway through the first half. Kerri Metzler and Emma Kittredge each scored two of their team-high three goals to help SHU cut the lead to 7-6 at the break.
Sacred Heart was whistled for 16 fouls, which helped SFU to convert five of seven free position attempts. The Red Flash also won 14 draw controls the Pioneers' 11.
