SHU tops Northeastern and Hartford
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Sacred Heart University women's volleyball team won at both ends of the spectrum on Saturday during day two of the Boston College Invitational. The Pioneers rallied to beat Northeastern, 3-2 (20-25, 24-26, 25-16, 25-23, 15-9), then swept Hartford, 3-0 (25-10, 25-23, 25-22).

Of Note:
Northeastern took the first two sets, including squeaking out the second set, but the Pioneers flipped the switch in set three.
A 5-0 run early in the third set gave SHU the margin it needed with the lead growing to 19-10 on one of Olivia Fairchild's 21 kills. Northeastern tied set four at 21-21, but two Fairchild winners pushed the advantage to 24-21 and she forced a fifth set on another kill.
Three-straight Huskie miscues in set five gave Sacred Heart the cushion it needed to prevail. Northeastern got within 12-9, but Fairchild sandwiched a pair of kills around one from Dominique Felix to complete the comeback.
The 21 kills by Fairchild is her most in a SHU uniform. Jasmine Rogers notched her second double-double in a row with 12 kills and 10 digs.
Sacred Heart had an 88-80 advantage in digs with five players notching 10 or more, led by Emma Smallcomb's match-high 21.
A 7-0 run in the middle of the first set, keyed by four Hartford errors, allowed SHU to cruised to the opening set. The momentum swung back and forth in set two with the Hawks drawing even at 23-23. A Hartford blocking error and Fairchild kill wrapped up the set.
Producing her first triple double of the season was setter Sarah Ciszek with 25 assists, 11 kills and 11 digs. Felix was three kills shy of a double-double with seven winners and 11 digs.
SHU's defense stymied the Hawks as the Pioneers had a 49-35 advantage in digs. The Pioneers hit .250 to Hartford's .162 rate.
