Pioneers Drop 43-9 Decision at Bucknell

LEWISBURG, Pa. – A fast start could not be maintained by the Sacred Heart University men's wrestling team on Saturday. The Pioneers dropped a 43-9 decision at Bucknell.

The loss dropped the Pioneers to 1-4 overall, 0-3 in the EIWA. Bucknell improved to 9-2, 5-0 in the conference.

Nick Palumbo started the match by producing a 4-2 decision over Nick Delp at 157 pounds. Robert Hetherman quickly disposed of Sam Barnes at 174 pounds, pinning him in just 39 seconds.

Unfortunately, that was the last victory for the Pioneers. Bucknell won the last seven bouts to claim the victory.

Sacred Heart returns to the Pitt Center on January 30 for a 12 p.m. contest against Franklin & Marshall.
