Box Score

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – It was a great way to kick off the 30th anniversary season at home. A victory that included six goals and action from end to end.

First-year Blake Humphrey hit the net twice and four other teammates had multiple-point nights as the Sacred Heart Men's Hockey Team blew open a 1-1 game on the way to a 6-3 win over Canisius at Total Mortgage Arena.

Humphrey, a forward from Syracuse, N.Y., who was conference rookie of the week after netting two points last weekend, scored the Pios' third and final goals and now has four on the season. His performance ignited Sacred Heart to its fourth win in five games to remain atop the Atlantic Hockey standings.

SHU, which had 13 different players notch points and five goal scorers, got 25 saves from senior goalie Luke Lush.

The two teams are back at it again Saturday at 4 p.m.
