Johnson Has Double-Double in Pioneers Loss to UMass Lowell

Bryce Johnson recorded his second double-double of the season

FAIRFIELD, Conn.- Junior Bryce Johnson recorded his second double-double of the season to lead Sacred Heart men's basketball in a 70-59 loss to UMass Lowell at home on Saturday afternoon.

Of Note:
After being down by 10 at halftime,27-17, the Pioneers battled in the second half and took a brief lead before falling to the Riverhawks.
 
Mike Sixsmith made a three-pointer at 17:16 that sparked a 17-4 run, capped off by a three-pointer from Johnson to give the Pioneers their first lead of the game, 39-37 at 13:31.
 
Lowell answered with an 11-2 run, taking a 52-48 lead with 9:33 left in the second half. The Pioneers crawled their way back but could only get within three at 8:22 off an and-one situation from Galette. The Riverhawks extended their lead throughout the remainder of the game for the 70-59 final.
 
Three Sacred Heart players scored in double figures, Johnson, Galette, and Reilly, all with 13 points. Johnson recorded his second double-double of the season, his first one came from the Pioneers road game against UMass Lowell on November 16th.
 
Sacred Heart will be on the road for its next four games, including stops at Fairfield, the University of Pittsburgh, Stony Brook, and Saint Joseph's University.
