
Ciszek Earns AVCA All-Region Honors

Setter collects second award of her career.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – After winning every award possible in the Northeast Conference, Sacred Heart University's Sarah Ciszek added another women's volleyball accolade on Tuesday. The graduate setter was named Honorable Mention All-East Coast Region by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.
This is the second time she's been recognized by the national coaching organization. Ciszek was an honorable mention selection following the 2021 spring season.
The San Juan Capistrano, Calif. native earned NEC Player of the Year and Setter of the Year. In addition to her two awards, Ciszek also captured the fifth First-Team All-NEC selection of her career. Ciszek has the distinction that no other student-athlete in the country may ever garner as she is the five-time Setter of the Year and five-time First-Team All-NEC selection.
The most dynamic player in the NEC, she led the conference with 1,137 assists, putting her fourth on the SHU single-season charts, and had the top hitting percentage at .353, which is the fifth-best SHU rate. Ciszek earned a record nine NEC Player of the Week awards and finished her career with 24 weekly nods, also a conference record. Ciszek rates fifth in the country with five triple doubles.
She finished her career ranked second in school history with 4,642 assists. Ciszek is tied for the all-time SHU mark with a .344 hitting percentage while rating fifth at 1,348 digs to go along with 937 kills.
